OUR LEGACY

ArtWorks for Freedom was founded to harness the power of art in raising awareness and inspiring action against human trafficking and modern-day slavery.

Over 13 years, we engaged with communities globally, spotlighting these critical issues through powerful exhibitions, events, and advocacy. We worked tirelessly alongside dedicated partners, volunteers, and supporters to foster a world where freedom and justice prevail.

OUR IMPACT

ArtWorks for Freedom uses the transformative power of art to inspire action to end human trafficking. Our mission has always been to change public perceptions, educate sectors affected by trafficking, and motivate individuals, communities, and systems to engage in eradicating modern-day slavery.

Our grassroots approach reaches globally. We’ve launched anti-trafficking initiatives in cities across the United States, Europe, and Asia.

What We Did:

  • Artworks Across Disciplines: We created works that illuminate the realities of human trafficking, designed to alert, alarm, and galvanize audiences.
  • Partnerships: We collaborated with activists, organizations, funders, and sectors affected by trafficking to ensure broad community participation and impact.
  • Artistic Tools: We developed high-quality tools with acclaimed artists and survivors to aid in awareness efforts.
  • Exhibitions: We curated tailored exhibitions, participated in events, and promoted these efforts via press and social media.

ArtWorks for Freedom’s arts-based approach was unique in the anti-trafficking field. While we stood in solidarity with organizations focused on advocacy, training, and survivor services, we moved people to take action through artworks and artistic tools that revealed the truth of human trafficking. Our exhibitions built bridges for lasting systemic change, supporting the efforts of partners committed to freedom and dignity for all.

Though our work has come to an end, we are proud of the lives we’ve touched and the awareness we’ve raised.
