With decades of experience in public advocacy, policy development, and economic and market statistics production and management, Marano provides thought leadership for improving the environment for travel and tourism to flourish sustainably. She currently serves as the senior vice-president of Longwoods International, a tourism research consultancy; previously, she led the National Travel and Tourism Office at the U.S. Department of Commerce and established the department of government and industry affairs at the World Travel and Tourism Council in London, England. In 2019, Marano was recognized by the International Institute of Peace Through Tourism with the “Celebrating Her” award for her work in building global alliances that promote tourism as a force for good.
