ERIN HANEY is a founding principal at Material Arts Management, which works with artists, collectors, and families to help them preserve, plan, publish, archive, disseminate, and promote collections of any origin, big and small.
Erin has worked as a curator and writer for public arts projects, museums, and collectors — including the Smithsonian Institution, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the South London Gallery, and foundations and private collections — and pioneered programs focused on family collections as repositories of community and transnational histories. She enjoys collaborating with organizations and using creative processes to reframe how we know what we know, with an eye toward growing expansive communal experiences and logics.
A curator and art and photo historian (PhD, University of London) with dozens of published works, Erin’s focus on contemporary artists and collections ranges from the United States and Europe to the Middle East and Africa. Erin also works a producer on film projects and events internationally.
