WALKING IN THEIR FOOTSTEPS
Kat Rohrer’s participatory drama, “Walking in their Footsteps,” takes the audience through a reenactment of the stages of human trafficking. Watch participants in Jacksonville, Florida, step into the shoes of those who are bought and sold for their labor around the world. The journey takes them from the friendly lures of the job recruiter to dehumanizing objectification, to being threatened, emotionally manipulated, abused and trapped. All of these stages characterize modern slavery.
